Short Term Goals
I am focusing my attention on switching to a chemical free lifestyle! While saying those words make me want to hide from fear of failing, or the commitment it brings along, I am working on making these steps permanent:
- Aluminum for dinner? Some studies suggest that the aluminum companies put in the deodorant has been linked with cancer, although there is not sufficient research to back up these claims, what more proof do we need? Anything that is put on our skin, is immediately absorb into the bloodstream.
- Proactive. It’s time to send our relationship on a one way trip to the garbage. Although proactive was well enough to kick my teenage acne in the who-ha.. It is time to face my fear of the acne possibly reappearing in the future, and change to a more kinder face wash.
- Sunscreen! I do not doubt the importance of sunscreen, and the correlation it has to prevent skin cancer, and premature skin wrinkles. However, I will accept the challenge to create my own, and sacrifice the time it takes. Over the counter sunscreens are also full of questionable ingredients.
- Shampoo. I vow to not use shampoo again. I know, I know, that does not mean I will not ever wash my hair again. It simply means there are more health conscious kitchen ingredients that are healthier for the overall care of the hair. (Apple cider vinegar, baking soda mix, also commonly known as the, “no-poo”) with a dash of coconut oil as conditioner.
These are all small ways I am challenging myself in the next few months. If I find more methods to change my lifestyle for the better, I will be sure to post them here as well.
